"Studies in Drum Set Independence Vol.1". It is the perfect aid to help beginner to intermediate drummers learn four way coordination, or limb independence. Chapter One teaches students many eighth note drum set patterns, each one building on the next. Chapter Two adds sixteenth note bass drum patterns to the eighth note hand patterns learned in Chapter One. The drum set patterns are further reinforced by having the student play them in four-bar phrases. The student should not simply play the pattern written on the page, but should make it groove and come alive with emotion! 80 pages * recommended for beginner to intermediate drummers AVAILABLE Now through Mel Bay Publications |

Burnin' Double Bass is a book intended for beginner to intermediate drummers that want master the art of double bass drumming. The book is broken up into two chapters. Chapter One contains daily double bass strengthening work- outs, as well as double bass fill ideas. Chapter Two contains over 100 different double bass grooves that help develop control and independence. I have included two pages of additional hand patterns so once the student has completed the book, they can go back and play the new hand patterns to the written bass drum patterns. I also highly recommend that students experiment with different phrasing of the written foot combinations for each exercise. |
